Monotype

The Foundry font collection is available exclusively through Monotype and their affiliate partners. To purchase a licence to use The Foundry font collection you can via the Monotypes partner links Fonts.com, Fontshop, Linotype and MyFonts.

If you wish to licence a font from both The Foundry Types and another Foundry font from Monotype then you will unfortunately have to make two separate transactions.

Distributors and resellers

At this time, we only sell either here at The Foundry Types or through Monotype’s affiliate partners. Our fonts may not be purchased for the purpose of resale. The Foundry Types does not sell fonts through distributors, resellers, or any other vendors with exception to Monotype. Font licenses are non-transferrable, legally binding contracts between The Foundry Types Ltd and the end-users of its font software.

Resellers or design agencies may purchase the fonts on behalf of a client. All information must be entered online correctly and fully in the ‘Licensee’ fields provided in the checkout. The fonts will be delivered to the End User directly, no exceptions. Mistakes or errors will not be granted a refund or any licensee details changed once downloaded.

Font licensing

A font licence or EULA (End User Licence Agreement) is a legally binding contract agreement between the You/User (Licensee) and Us/The Foundry Types (Licensor). The licence permits you the rights to use the font in a specified way. You do not own the font in any way. It’s important to remember that fonts are software and like any other piece of software, you are licenced to use the software provided the correct payment has been made for the correct usage.

Our font licences cover for Desktop, Web and App & ePub, the EULA’s can be read in detail on our Licensing section. We can offer you a specific tailor made licence on your request – for any other licensing enquiries please contact us at [email protected]

A perpetual licence is a one-time payment. All our licences are for the payment of a one-time fee for the font licensed at the time of purchase. Additional charges will apply to any upgrades or licence changes.

If you have previously purchased a font licence from us going back a number of years either through The Foundry or Foundry Types and need a licence upgrade or new font format, we will take into account your past association with us. Please contact us directly at [email protected].

If your usage exceeds your licence with either Desktop, Web or App & ePub you will be required to make sure you have the correct licence in place. Using fonts outside the original licence agreement infringes on our licensing terms and conditions – contact us at [email protected] for more details.

When you purchase a font licence, you are purchasing the rights to use the fonts. You do not own the font in any way. The font licence specifies the terms and conditions of the usage.
